Do these suffer from poor reception like other radios do?

You can still buy "kits" to make your own BA. Sold in hobby shops for the young, but I don't know how successful the sales figures are.
I agree with Tilly. I've had a Pure Evoke2 for about 10 years and never any problem with reception. (Mainly tuned to Radio4Extra)

Thanks all, mixed bag of reviews. I only want a little cheapy radio for work, but I could do without mucking around with aerials,
DAB reception is abysmal where I live. I've paid for three thinking it was the fault of the radio, but I'm back to AM/FM now.
I've had a Pure Evoke since they were launched. Still got the same one and never had a problem. Love it

Ouch, they're a bit pricey for work.
Rocky, look that one up on the Argos website & read the reviews.
The best advice is to buy whatever you fancy/are willing to pay...from Argos. Take it home and try it, and if you find it's not to your liking/no good/useless...return to Argos as "not suitable". It's the only way with DAB..you need to try it out in your own home.
I tend to be ok where I live but they do not have a good reputation. You either have a signal or not. Unlike analogue it doesn't gradually deteriorate. So a mobile DAB radio is vulnerable to dropping out.

If you want one try one and see. I'm unconvinced they won't replace the standard with something better before too long. But they are still pushing them, so who knows ?

But can I get Absolute on long wave? Oh yeah, and a bit of Classic

There's nobody on AB who can say if "YOU" will get a poor reception.
Only "YOU" can tell us that.
If you are unsure as to whether you will receive a good signal. Buy a Dab Radio from Amazon, whereby it will be delivered to your door.

Try it at home for a few days.
If the reception is poor, email Amazon with a request to return it.
They will send DPD to collect it... and DPD will text you to say what day and with a 1 hour time slot for the collection.
Have done it a few times with Amazon and all I can say is I am well impressed.
My gripe with digital radio is that you can only listen to your local BBC radio station, where I live that happens to be Radio Lancashire but during the season I like to listen to Rugby League commentaries on BBC Manchester and I can no longer tune in to these, unless of course someone on here knows of a way for me to do this!!
