Verbal Interpretation On Recorded Programmes?

Hi, i record most programmes as i dont watch tv till after 9pm
I have BT INFINITY package, have had for over 3 years, but tonight, first time ever, watching a pre record of Emmerdale, suddenly, a female voice started explaining what was happening in that scene? A bit like the bloke in right hand corner doing the signing for tge deaf?
I dont recall changing any format? But its really annoying!
