Has anyone taken this to help with their periods and has it helped?

Every month I get so low in mood, depressed, short tempered, even paranoid. I find I'm snappy, impatient and I even drive more aggressively.

I've suffered with horrendous massaging, stomach pains and bloating and yet when the period arrives it's light and lasts about 2 days max. I always think, "What the hell was all that about?"

My extremely low mood is my main concern and I'm desperate for help with this :(

Dear NoMercy, Wow, your post touches many nerves with me as a male! (a) Premenstrual Tension was not recognised when I was a child and teenager. If that is your problem, it seems quite mild compared with my mother. Every month, our loving family erupted between mam and dad - started by mam - mainly based on her "insane" jealousy. For 2-3 days we kids and dad had to...

I swore by it during my 'later years' of periods and during the menopause. Be sure to take the biggest dose you can though.
In the dim and distant past when I had PMS I found the homeopathic remedy Nat Mur very helpful. I got it from Boots and it worked like magic.
I found it most odd that it worked, as I do not give much credence to homeopathy, but it worked for me,so I pass it on as an alternative treatment.
At worst it will do you no harm and costs very little.
Wow NoMercy has done what so many do not bother to do although it's part of the AB code: Awarded a best answer!
Getting one is never my aim and this one must have been a real challenge for you, NoMercy, given the excellent responses.

why not try the depot injection (12 weeks) or implant contraceptive (3 years)? they both stop periods and all that nonsense in between. mine used to be horrendous but now it is heaven. i started with the injection to see if it suited me and had the implant two years ago, and never a problem since. worth looking into! x

Icg, I was refused the depot and the Mirena Coil on the basis that I didn't get on with the pill. The Reg basically said if I couldn't cope with the hormones in the pill, there's no way I'd cope with the high dose hormones from the Depot or the Mirena Coil.

Also, with the Depot, it could take a year to come back into fertility after the last dose has worn off and since I really want kids and I'm 38 in a few day's time, that's a big no-no.

Please excuse the typos in my previous post.

I should mention that I'm in better spirits now and perhaps the low mood was cyclical, just like the mastalgia (which also appears to have resolved).
I thought St Johns Wort was supposed to be good for this type of problem NoM. I take Eve Prim Oil capsules for eczema and it has cleared up the problem so I now only take a capsule twice a week . I hope you find relief in whatever you decide to do. I'm soooo glad all that is now WELL in the past for me.
