Inner Left Ankle Pain

After wearing boots with an inch high block heel on Sunday, I've been experiencing a sharp pain which feels muscular, in my left ankle.

I fractured my Tib and Fib twenty years ago which wasn't pinned and just spent 5 months in various sized plaster casts, instead.

The pain is sharp and sudden when I walk and disappears if I walk on tiptoe.

What could it be and what should I do to alleviate it? I must say that I don't wear any form of heel on a regular basis but, why is it just the "broken" ankle?

Thanks.

Can I also add that, the pain is on the inside of the ankle and not where the fracture was, which was on the outside.
chrissa....no diagnosis leaps out of my screen hitting me in the face.

Your past trauma, may or may not be a factor and i feel however that it may be implicated.

A 4 day history is too short a time to worry about a definitive diagnosis, but posterior tibial tendonitis is in the frame albeit and outsider.

my advice?.........take ibuprofen for the pain and monitor the situation.
