Has anyone (thought I read it on here once) ever managed to get a last minute turkey at a ridiculous knockdown price from a supermarket just before closing on Christmas Eve? I`ve already got a turkey but was in Sainsburys just now and thought there might be some reductions but they`re still charging full price.

Blimey. I think I might go back just before closing as Sains is just down the road. I fancy putting something in the freezer for Easter.
I got one last year from Sainsburys a few days after Christmas 8.5kg weight - really huge! for ............... only £9! I put it in the freezer for Easter.
So keep your eyes peeled!
I always wait to the last moment. Waitrose turkeys were being knocked out at half price (I could have bought 50) and Tesco were selling some 75% off. Never saw any reductions at Sainsburys although they had plenty
JP Sainsbury's tend to let staff 'take a look' at reduced stuff, especially festive items. My friend, who works for Sainsbury's, managed to get me loads of Easter eggs (the small ones) for 10p each and then 5% discount which is rounded up so 9p per egg. He did the same for Christmas this year from the staff trolley that had turkeys on it.
Aston villa usually buy the cheap turkeys and play them in January:-)
Yeah, usually signed from Liverpool !.
