Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.
Doctor just seen me and said "We are going to make you an outpatients appointment with Sheffield". So when my infection has cleared up, I'm out the door once again. How am I supposed to keep my sickness under control? Non of the oral meds work. Great, so I will either be throwing up through out the back end of Christmas and New Year.
Just great.
Just wonderful.
Baaa £&#@£%@ humbug.

I don't understand your post. Somebody can quite easily have mental health problems and be physically ill. How would you know which members of AB are mentally ill?
Dizmo - I have to say that I have lost the sequence of events in your trip to the hospital. It is either a really badly run ward or they love you so much that they want you to stay over Christmas.
Are you taking your 'happy tablets' as well as the painkillers?
Does Santa know where you are.
Remember to consider that you 'may' be a pest to the nursing staff. It doesn't mean we ABers love you less but your stay may be more pleasant if you are good. :-)
You will have to be good - Santa Claus is coming to town.

The nursing staff are adamant that I'm going home tomorrow as soon as the pain team have seen me. Apparently that's why I'm still here. So the doctor said what he did just to calm me down for the night. So it looks like I'm going to have to hope that the pain team double my pain meds (which I doubt they'll do, however I might be wrong, there may be flying wombats) and get rid of my sickness.
Right that's me signing off for the night. Thank you for all you words of support, it looks like this one is once again out of my hands - I submit defeat.

I've just been given my evening meds - thiamine because they haven't got any, mine have been destroyed. I looked in the pot and there was a little yellow tablet, so I queried what it was. It's only Ondanzetron - a tablet that makes me sick. I spent 30 minutes with the nurse practitioner last week discussing my issues with that drug. They TRIED giving me it earlier as well as IM. What the %£#@ is wrong with these people.
They don't even apologies. They just blame the computer. It's double standards every corner you turn in this place.
I'm going to speak with my mum and consider taking this ordeal to the press. I hate to make the entire hospital look bad but what they have done is unbelievable.
My medicine cabinet was left hanging open most of the day, perfect for me to fall off the bed and smash my head on it. So non jokingly I said (bearing in mind this was moments before nearly been given a drug that makes me I'll) if you're trying to kill me, don't bother I'll do it myself. She replied "it's too much paperwork". Now normally I take that sort of joke in good light but given the mistakes they are making I often wonder if they have an ulterior motive.

Diz, I've just read this - so sorry to hear of your trials at the moment. There IS a complaints process at the hospital if you want to make a formal complaint, might have better results than going to the Press, but I can quite understand why you want to let the world know what a *** time you're having at the moment. My fingers are very crossed for you.
DTC I may well do that. Something needs to happen about this. The staff are overworked and are unpleasant to be around. They are 50% down most days (after cuts), these are staff that should be here but are off sick.
Right time to put my phone on charge and buzz for yet again more pain relief. Toodles everyone and if you don't hear from me tomorrow the next time you do I'll be at home.
Let me see if I can get some sleep...
