Has anyone had any luck disputing a parking fine when they know they are in the right? I`ve got one this morning and am going to dispute it but as the parking company want to make their money, it`s their word against mine. Do they ever back down and say "OK then, we believe you and you don`t have to pay".

I`m going to have to cough up I think, divebuddy. I`ll add a little note to tell them that I hope they feel good about themselves when they penalise disabled cancer patients while they are having their treatment.

That`s strange. You can say or link Parking e y e here
The site won't allow you to type the name because of past legal problems.

I hope you get it sorted, the last thing you need when someone is so poorly.

Thanks mamyalynne. I`m just keeping my fingers crossed that I don`t get another one from tuesday this week.
The fault is with the hospital. Contact your local paper if they won't be lenient.
I don't understand the hospital policy. It is the person who qualifies for the blue badge, not the vehicle. You can transfer the badge to any vehicle which your mum is travelling.
Maybe you should register spouse's car/ neighbour's car/ relative's car etc in case that someone else took your mum to hospital. The admin staff will be delighted to help!!
Hi 237SJ . . . these tickets are always frustrating and often described as 'unenforceable invoices'. Trying to get the parking companies to cancel one is almost impossible. This is annoying when one believes they have not parking wrongly. £100 is a ridiculous amount to demand for parking so the following link could prove useful. A family member paid the £16 and just four days later received an email from the parking company cancelling the ticket. An excellent result and end of the problem.

Result! I had a look at the hospital`s website and there is no mention of the new parking policy. They are still saying that blue badge holders get free parking if they display the badge which is wrong so I decided to phone PALS and suggested that they update their website with the new parking policy. It turns out that the staff behind the reception desk are not giving the correct info about how to register. She said they have had loads of complaints about it all and they are overturning all of the parking charges that involve Blue Badge holders.
Well done, persistence has obviously paid off.

Yes divebuddy. The lady took my reg number and Mum`s blue badge details so that she can put me into the system. When the reception staff told me to type in my car reg details to register, that was wrong. I thought it was odd because it didn`t ask for any details about the blue badge. She is going to get the Transport Manager to phone me to explain it all but she said he seems to have disappeared over the last couple of days. He`s probably bogged down with parking complaints!

I know there was a dodgy private outfit working in the Reigate area a few years ago and were very intimidating, especially to older people. I don't know where you live 237, but I'm sure there are dodgy companies operating throughout the UK. If you're sure you're in the right then go for it. Good luck xx

Got the humiliating climbdown letter from the parking company yesterday telling me they had cancelled the charge. That`a fifty quid less for their profits!
