Just the past week or so, I am experiencing light headedness, lasting only a second or two.
Accompanying it is an odd sensation I can only describe as a feeling/sound of like a rubber band twanging in my head.
All very transient, but very odd.
Any ideas?

No but it doesn't sound unusual.
Been tired of late ?
The most obvious cause of light-headedness is insufficient oxygen getting to the brain. That could be because of low blood pressure, blood loss (as with a woman with heavy periods), internal bleeding (as when I bruised my spleen), dehydration, blood disorders, etc.

However it's just as likely (or probably more so) that you've got a minor head cold and simply haven't noticed (or yet developed) any other symptoms.

It's one of those 'if in doubt, get it checked out' things but there's probably nothing much to worry about.

This might be relevant:

high/low blood pressure. ?
off chance it might be a type of migraine aura. Aura only migraine is not unusual.
Like BC says, if in doubt get it checked out. Has anything at all else changed? Sleep pattern? diet? workload? anything?

I do have the occasional scintillating scotoma, had a couple of late. BP tends to be a tad high. It's the funny twanging that is worrying me, it feels so strange. Can't think of anything that has changed.
Whilst I have been typing this, I have had 2 little spells, they only last a second or so.
I'd be chatting to the doc then....

That's a tough one Woofgang, in view of the date.
Maybe I could ask for a telephone consultation Monday.
How are you feeling now ferlew
Are you stressed out about you forthcoming op?
No, nothing obvious or sinister comes to mind.......monitor the situation for the next few weeks.
Do you have problems with your neck or your balance?
I experience something similar which I liken to a pinball suddenly shooting round inside my head. It makes me lightheaded and dizzy for a short time.

Cupid, could be that, I am worried about not being able to do much afterwards.
Squad, thank you - nothing sinister helps no end. You know how we fret.
Pre op yesterday, nurse thinks they may not do me as a day surgery, in view of medical history, heart attacks, high BP etc.
Have to wait to hear.
