It seems that today is known as mad Friday (the Friday before Christmas) because a lot of people finish work today for the Christmas holiday and go out drinking according to the media. Which people are these then? I don't know of anyone finishing today apart from teachers perhaps. There is nearly a week to go yet.

Many people will book the next fortnight off because, for those who work Mondays to Fridays, due to the bank holidays they can get 16 days' holiday at a cost of 7 days' annual leave.

Ah I see, pixie.
Where I originate from it's known as 'Black Eye Friday'
That's what they called it on the news, joeluke. Busiest night at A&E.
Pixie, I couldn't do your job. We owe people like you so much and you should be paid a lot more xx
Yeah he does but it was depressing mate.... Mess was full of folk kidding on to be happy until the oblivion of booze got to them!!
Right, put it behind you now slappy. Back home with friends and family now.
Town I used to go out in on 'Black Eye Friday' has a street with a row of pubs and clubs where there's always trouble kicking off........it's known locally as the Gaza Strip
Pixie, best wishes to you and your sister. You do an amazing job and people can rely on you to be there. Well done to you both. xx
