Shame - R.I.P. Mandy.

History will show that she and Christine Keeler were both beautiful young women, and that Mandy aged gracefully, Christine less so.

They are a link with former times, when if it was a choice between a male minister having his reputation trashed, or a woman of his acquaintance, there was no contest.
Peter - I think it was "I didn't know whether to block her passage or toss myself off", though some sources give it the other way round. For all I know, someone said that before too; but it was the first recorded version so it's attributed to him. The same is true of pretty well every word in the OED. And for Mandy's phrase.
Is it just me , or can anyone else see a hint of Elizabeth Taylor ( in her later years ) in her face ?
It`s just you.
PP you're really on form today:-))

Firetruck! Tut.
Didn't she and Christine Keeler get porridge because they were sneaks and told tales about their betters?

I can definitely see a hint of Elizabeth Taylor in the last picture of her, in the link

RIP Mandy.

At least the MP sleaze was with consenting ADULTS in those days - not like the currently-emerging episodes.
RIP, Mandy. [i]but then again I would say that, wouldn't I ;-)[i].

R I P Mandy - you managed to rise above yourself....

You could have carried off the phrase with aplomb:
"Ay am not a tart. Ay am an ay class mow dell""

You personfied with your yoof the dying ashes of the corrupt MacMillan govt which was soon to be swept away....
( by the white heat of the technological revolution )
// I can definitely see a hint of Elizabeth Taylor in the last picture of her, in the link//

didnt Elizabeth Taylor star in a film as an Egyptian Mummy?
was it that film you had in mind ?
I can see the likeness to Elizabith Taylor. I also think Christine - in the first pic in the OP link - looks like Nigella.
