M&s Chocolates

Does anyone one know if their chocolates, (Big Selection I think they're called, in a red box, similar to Quality Street and the like) are on offer at the moment. They're not on their website.

I have become a huge fan of Lidl these last couple of years Rocky, and now shop there for pretty well all my food. The fruit and veg are particularly good value...eg I bought a big cucumber yesterday for 29p ! I also eat at least one banana a day and these are really inexpensive as well.
But if I had one criticism, it would be that some things don't last long on their shelves. All the three Lidls here in the Penzance area are stuffed full of chockies but I wouldn't leave it much longer to buy them, if I were you !
Go into Lidl with an open mind. If you are expecting a pound shop experience, then you are going to be very disappointed. Most things cost more than a pound and it isn't anything like as chaotic as a pound shop !
But have a look at the hams, cheeses, yoghurt, butter, bacon and sausages, and they are up there with the best that any supermarket sells, but cheaper.
I am not a huge meat eater, but the beef, lamb, chicken, etc looks very nice and again, not as expensive as other places.
But Lidl also have things that you rarely see in other places like Tesco, for instance. Venison, lobster, yummy looking scallops, etc. Their ice cream is far too good, for someone like me who is quite a big chap these days and is trying not to get any bigger. There are now in store bakeries to add to the attractions.
Every Xmas they get in loads of " Continental" specialities, like gingerbread houses, stollens, etc.
So please give Lidl a go. I have been trying to persuade one of my sister-in-laws to go but it is step too far for her I'm afraid. She would need to put on a false beard and sunglasses before she stepped inside a Lidl, just in case anyone saw her. I have seen her shop in Tesco, put all the Tesco carrier bags full of stuff inside M+S bags, before unloading them from the boot of the car, just in case any of her snobby neighbours might see. God knows what precautions she would have to take if she went to Lidl !

Lol, I'm not a snob about it, my son loves their herrings in sour cream and I used to go in there before I went back to work, it's the incessant queues that bother me now that time is precious. I have barely a basket full and always have to wait behind at least 3 full trolleys. Victims of their own success methinks, not enough staff or checkouts for the volume of shoppers.
well their Bordeaux was kerrap. Ch Marjosse 2012 Entre-deux-Mares (£8-99) and I can get it cheaper through the wineandco.com (£6-87). 2012 wines are not that great, very thin on tannins and, quite frankly, this one tastes like a Rioja on steroids - i.e. unbalanced. Their other wines are not the steal that they initially look like, if one is prepared to dig around.
Plus I agree with Eccles, they need a basket line.

excellent food at lidl, and reasonable prices, some nice Christmassy foods in now,I do all my shopping there apart from bread, which I buy locally,
My son has found one in Sweden where he is studying, he like me wouldn't go anywhere else. Give it a go, you'll be surprised. even my doctor goes there every week and mingles with what your friend considers the hoi polloi.
