Danny...I won the solid silver Cross fountain Pen, in the Sunday Times in April 2008, and then won it again in June 2008 ! I was in a state of shock ! To win once was incredible, but to win twice, in a few weeks was almost impossible.

Still trying to win that smashing DAB radio in the i paper though !
Good luck Mikey.:-)
Mikey 4444 I won the Pure DAB radio twice in 2011 when it was post entry only I now think they won't bother with the postal entries when there is two ways by phone I would like to know if anyone has won with postal entry? do you enter by post.? good luck

Pega....no never, and I have been trying for about 18 months, since the prize crossword went from Friday to Saturday ! Well done to you !

The difficulty with all the newspaper crosswords these days is as you say...there are entries on the 'net to consider as well. I presume that they wait until the last date for entry, lump all the entries together, from all sources, and then choose a winner.

I hope this is the way they do it, because to do it any other way would not be fair, but we don't really know, do we ?

I have been a runner-up in the Saturday Telegraph, and also won the Guardian twice. I no longer enter the Guardian as their prize is so crappy and been the same for years.....I have 2 sets of their books and I have no need of a third !

Out of curiosity, does any one know the average number of entries that these prize competitions attract ?

As a side note, when I received the second silver pen from the Sunday Times,
I naturally thought that they had made a mistake, and I phoned them up.
A very well-spoken lady said, "no...no mistake...anyone can win it again"
When I suggested that after winning the first time, my name might be on some kind of "blacklist" she was most put out, and said that the Sunday Times would never dream of doing something like that !
I only do postal entries and have won a DAB radio with the I crossword, I agree with the comment about the prizes, I have won the Sat Indi on a number of occasions and have difficulty finding people who want a big dictionary. It seems an odd sort of prize as I suspect most of us already have one.
