When I search for something to purchase it usually ends up coming up on answerbank. I do not remember agreeing to anything and also confused as to how this happens.

I live in Ontario, and very often I get ads on here from strictly Canadian businesses...Sometimes even from my home town!

For example, right now there is an ad from "Tim Hortons".

It's google ads (or something similar) - AB sells the right to place ads on your screen to pay the bills.

The ad software looks at your recent browsing history (via cookies) and also at your location (from your IP address) - then it displays appropriate adverts.
