There are only nine questions.

This is a quiz for people who know everything !!
I found out in a hurry that I didn't. These are not trick questions.
They're straight questions with straight answers.

1. Name the one sport in which neither the spectators nor the participants know the score or the leader until the contest ends.

2. What famous North American landmark is constantly moving backward ?

3 Of all vegetables, only two can live to produce on their own,

for several growing seasons. All other vegetables must be replanted every year.

What are the only two perennial vegetables ?

4. What fruit has its seeds on the outside ?

5. In many liquor stores, you can buy pear brandy,

with a real pear inside the bottle. The pear is whole and ripe,

and the bottle is genuine; it hasn't been cut in any way.

How did the pear get inside the bottle ?

6. Only three words in standard English begin with the letters ' dw' and they are all common words.

Name two of them.

7. There are 14 punctuation marks in English grammar.

Can you name at least half of them ?

8. Name the only vegetable or fruit that is never sold frozen, canned, processed, cooked, or in any other form except fresh.

9. Name 6 or more things that you can wear on your feet beginning with the letter 'S.'

I will post the answers in 30 minutes. Good luck!!

Bridalveil falls?
Question Author
Puzzled I have artichokes in my cupboard both tinned and in a jar.
Artichokes are perennial, however though we eat them, they are a variety of Thistle - maybe that is where the definition falls down. Not sure.
3 not 8 - perennial vegetables
Q3 relates to vegetables not required to be replanted annually.
I have never tasted an artichoke. Should I make the effort?
This botanist says they are vegetables,so yes it should be included.

Answer:

In the plant reproductive process, seeds form inside the ovary (which becomes the fruit we know) after pollination. There are some plants where it appears that the seeds are carried on the outside of the fruit, but this simply isn't true.
Bananas for Q8.
There are many processed Banana products, shakes, smoothies, canned fruit cocktail to name a few.
More interesting trivia (or not) a Banana is not a fruit - it's a herb.
Though as per usual,my trivia is debatable....

What about lettuce face packs?
Well,I was amazed to see Pickled Lettuce earlier, would love to at least try it.
When I first went to France as a 13 year old back in the 60s I was amazed to be served lettuce at every meal as a separate dish, between the main course and the cheese. No accompaniment, just lettuce tossed in vinaigrette. It must have something going for it. I was told, "C'est pour la santé" (it's for your health).
