I have many choral practice cassette tapes of most major works. They are of no use to me now and I have tried to give them away free even on the local Freegle site without success. Any idea anyone please. recycling cassette tapes seems to be a problem as the local recycling depot no longer accept tapes. If I put them in the weekly household rubbish bag which goes to the incinerator will they cause a problem because of dangerous particles from the magnetic tapes? Cassettes have been overtaken by modern technology.

I'm pretty sure the 'dangerous' particles won't be a problem. You could always prise them open with a screwdriver, throw the tapes in the bin and the plastic cases into the recycle bin.
