Can anyone tell me in simple terms please how I can connect my HTC One mobile to my laptop and use the phone to get the internet on my laptop? Are there any charges I need to be wary of if I do this? It's a contract mobile with 3.

Sorry if I'm not explaining myself very well but have I not seen commuters on trains getting on the internet in this way? I need to do something similar in the next week or two.

Thank you all so much.

I'm not technical but this is how I do it on my android phone (a samsung but expect the method is similar). When at home I make sure my wifi switch is set to on (in settings) and it will then find my home internet. there are no charges apart from your home ISP charges. When out and about you need your roaming data switched on - you will then pay according to your phone contract with 3, whatever your maximum download is will be free but over that then you will pay so be careful. There is also the possibility of finding free wifi spots when out as well. All this is assuming that you have internet download as part of your phone contract and your phone has 3G ability.
I've written that off the top of my head so hopefully a techie will correct or agree with it.
