Now OH is having a go with another stick and its just taking us ages; 2 hours so far. Neither of us know what we're doing really so PLEASE PLEASE help.

I really am very grateful to all your attempts to help me, but I haven't found anything the same as the suggestions, except "my computer".

I'm really at my wits end with this, and was almost in tears in Tesco when they said there was nothing on the stick. I wanted to make a photo book for our friends' 60th birthdays back in April, and I still haven't managed to do it!! I feel so flippin' helpless:-(
horseshoes, why dont you use PhotoBox (it's a website) and you can send them your photos? They do really nice books of photos.

I'm going to leave it for now, as I'm getting SO frustrated with it. I might just take the whole lot down to Tesco tomorrow and see if they can help. As you say, it's easier in person than you trying to explain and me trying to understand, ut thank you all, so much.

That's kind MM. I might just take you'll on that:-)
ok ..check your e mail later tonight and if you still need a hand call me any time after 7pm Friday ! xx
I sympathise with you but even a thick head like me can do it.Slot in your.pen drive, flash drive whatever you want to call it into a USB port in your PC,laptop ,whatever you are using.
Go to COMPUTER on the START menu (bottom left-hand corner) ,then you MAY see something saying "Removable?.click on it and it will open up a widow, blank if you have nothing on it.Open your pics and drag the ones you want onto it.
open up a "window".
Get someone to show you once and it'll be a doddle next time.

No neighbour or passing schoolkid PC whiz you can ask ?
Do you have a spare memory card for your camera?

If so you could copy the photos onto that, either by plugging it directly into your computer OR putting the card in your camera and connecting it to your computer that way. )(Hoever you usually get the photos from the camera to the computer). Then you can find the photos you want printed on your computer and copy them onto your spare memory card ie, reverse the process you use to get the photos from the camera to the computer.

I don't know about Tesco, but most photographic shops will print photos from a memory card.
Open MY COMPUTER - it may be on your desktop, or it will be in the Start Menu

You should see your hard disk - which will be C

You will also see you CD or DVD drive.

Now note what else you see.

Now stick in your usb stick

A new drive should appear - might take a wee while if the computer has to install it first.

Now open up this new drive.

Depending how your computer is setup, the window for MY COMPUTER may or may not disappear.

If it disappears, repeat the steps for getting MY COMPUTER back on screen.

Now go to where your pictures are.

Choose one of your pictures and either drag it to the window of your usb stick OR right click on it, copy, then go to the window of your usb stick and right click then paste.

If you can do it for one pic, you can do it for multiple pics.

Now close the usb window, go to safely remove in the menu bar and remove the usb stick.

Now put it back in and open its window as above - if the pics are on it success!
just one thing I'd add - when copying photos over make sure the little prompt says copying not moving. You want to leave the originals right where they are.
