Whilst I don't, my first thoughts are Interflora or similar plant related delivery companies.

That aside maybe you can find a Thailand plant nursery, or similar, on the Net ?
Why would you want to send an orchid to Thailand? They produce orchids on a huge scale and export them round the world?
Here is a link to a Thai company who can deliver bouquets of orchids, ranging from 1200 Thai baht (about £20) to double that, good luck. http://www.flowers2thailand.com/search/search_pd.asp?t=type&;c=Flowers&;k=Flowers&;k=Orchids

Because we stayed with a family member and his wife over there, for free, they did a lot for us and we want to say thank you. What else would you suggest then grasscarp?

Thanks Old_Geezer and saintpeter; we didn't want to really send cut flowers more a nice potted plant of some sorts. I'll email them anyway and see if they do anything like that!
I looked on Internet for advice on sending gifts and seems people often get charged duty so a plant delivered locally may be best

Why not something typically British??
A nice piece of pottery or glassware, some luxury chocolates or fudge, a book of photographes of the UK, or of your house and surrounding areas, some scented soap from M&S for example. Just a few thoughts.
I'd suggest an illustrated calendar with pictures for every month of traditional aspects of Britain, like Windsor Castle, the Lake District, Stonehenge, etc
Jennykenny and atalanta's suggestions come close to what I have in mind. Send your friend something that can be eaten, or drunk, or loses its purpose after a while. If you send something that has a permanent nature (glassware, pottery, for example), and your friend doesn't like it, it's always going to be there. But if you send something that has a transient nature, and they don't like it, it will soon be gone (eaten, or drunk, or whatever). After all, it's the thought, not the gift, that counts.
