Have one very unhappy 6 year old grandson today. He has been throwing up since 4 am. However, he has just managed half a glass of boiled water and half a slice of dry toast which seem to be staying down, so fingers crossed. Certainly seems to be going the rounds up here, he is the 11th child that I know of at his school.

Has anyone identified the cause of the problem?

Not so far as I know bookbinder. My elder grandson's school in Aberdeen was closed for 3 days as 90 pupils and staff were laid low.
The little lad has my sympathy, maggie, and I hope that he will soon feel OK. It does look as though a health inspector (or someone similar) should be looking into the matter. Do you think that the school will just shrug it off, or will they take it further?

Feel they will just shrug it off BB.
So, it could happen again, then? That doesn't seem right. Has the school got its own kitchen, or does it have meals sent in from a central kitchen?
Don't think there is a problem at the school as such. 'Winter' d and v bugs are prevalent in most schools at this time of year. We had them regularly at all the schools I worked in - and no, it wasn't me!
I suppose that I'll sound like an old fogey if I say this, but I'll say it anyway. I started school in 1944 and finished in 1954, and my schools were never closed down by winter bugs of any kind. Something has gone wrong with school hygiene in recent years, and, if it can't be blamed on the school staff, there must be something wrong with home hygiene.
magie - hope the poorly little soul is feeling much better soon.
