Emily Thornberry represent Islington, so it is hardly surprising she has a house there.

She was a Barrister, as is her husband. Which explains how the couple afford a million pound home there.

And London house prices are vastly inflated. Rochester white van man's house, if it was next door to the Thornberry's would probably be a million pound house.
Blah, blah, blah, you've been caught sneering at working class people. You can spin it as much as you like, you're still busted.

/// Is it right that the homes of politicians are show here? Their addresses could easily be found by terrorists using the pictures and they, or their families, attacked. ///

Blimey Sandy I never thought of that, I wonder if they know where this is?

that's a dilapidated and decaying shack that you are showing there, AOG; where is it?
In the days before TV and internet, how did Guy Fawkes and his mates find out where it was?
AOG, the security at Westminster is very different from that at people's homes. Some politician could be putting his bins out of an evening and be attacked by terrorists who had pinpointed his house by using the information supplied, admittedly probably unthinkingly, by The Mail.
It's no laughing matter.
AOG
The Houses of Parliament has massive security, but the homes of these Labour politicians do not.

But of course, you know that.

Thornberry deserved to have here House photographed because she tweeted a photograph. But the others do not deserve it.

Don't be silly, that's the job of the maid from eastern Europe.

What and finish up as they do in the Ukraine?

But surely the image of some politician putting his bins out of an evening, is one big laugh in itself?

You people on The Right won't be happy until Labour MPs not only have white vans but live in them.
and clear bins as well, so the Eastern Europeans can go window shopping....

That is why we are on the 'RIGHT' side of politics.
speak for yourselves, centrist here.....

BlackadderV: Viscount Stansgate is the son of Tony Benn?
"At least they have their feet on the ground to the general principle of being in an economic union,..."

A little digressive I know, DT, but the EU is not an "economic union" as you suggest. It is a collection of widely disparate sovereign nations each with its own priorities and requirements. Were it an economic union (particuallry those nations that use the Euro) it may function a little more satisfactorily. But it isn't. Each nation has its own economy and they vary considerably. Most of the problems the EU throws up are a result of its politicians behaving as if it is an economic union and trying to force "one size fits all" solutions without economic and fiscal unity. It's no use blaming the "global financial crisis" or anything else. These problems were forecast by many people throughout the EU's evolution. and are a direct result of the malfunctioning of an organisation which is flawed anyway.

Back to the question, the Labour Party has absolutely no intention of even threatening that the UK, under their governance, would leave the EU, whatever that wretched organisation throws at us. They have no plans for any meaningful renegotiation of the UK's relationship within the EU. In short they are perfectly happy with things as they are and the status quo is in no way beneficial to the "working man". For what it's worth the Tories talk a good talk on this issue but they too have no realistic prospect of any meaningful changes being achieved (whether they really want any or not) and so under both those parties the "working man" is well and truly stuffed.
well I am canvassing Sarah Newton about it at the moment.....it's about time someone talked some common sense into Cameron. This issue is not beyond the wit of man - but then it maybe for a politician.
