They say that "when the US sneezes the UK catches a cold", well Mr President you can keep your sneezes so not to infect our politicians with your Left-Wing ideas.

Could the courts not declare his proposal 'unconstitutional'?
" is struggling mightily to leave some sort of 'legacy' that he is certainly devoid of unless this ploy works..."

I don't think so! Obamacare will be his legacy, as well as the "first black president" one
That's but one avenue to explore, Sandy.

A major problem the Republicans are faced with is that Obama, being the nations first "Black" president enjoys near immunity since any criticism at all is labeled 'racist' by the Democrats. They maintain he, and therefore his government are beyond attack since all they have to do is charge ever action as being racially based.

Within the last week or so, evidence has surfaced indicating his signature "ObamaCare" nationalization of health care services was passed after he was first elected and when both houeses of Congress were firmly in the Democrats fist. was done so by deceit and startling manipulation of the American public, who badly wanted to believe his claims that anew age had dawned.

In fact, the corruption, lying and outright illegalities that have taken place in the six years of his Presidency are amazing... yet few are willing to bring charges, again, simply becuase of fear of being labeled racist... a big no-no here if one has political ambitions.

Is it possible readers that Glenda Slagg of private eye has hacked into AOG's account ? Her style is detectable. I think we should be told ....

QM - the PM cannot say Hunting is now legal.... because there is a precedent - James II and the declaration of indulgence saying that the anti-Roman laws would not be enforced. (1685)

In the land of the free - Lincoln emancipated the slaves by executive order, and then - later it was an amendment wasnt it ? or legislative measure by the Feds.

Do Republicans not give him credit for bagging Bin Laden?
I doubt if clanad does :-)
Your just wrong that account, ichkeria... Credit given where credit's due... but (seems s always a but with Obama)... the doctor that provided the information to attack Bin Lauden still languishes is a Pakistani prison...
"...May 23, 2012 - Shakeel Afridi, the Pakistani doctor accused of helping the CIA track down Osama bin Laden, is fined $3,500 for spying for the United States and sentenced to 33 years in prison for treason by a tribal court..."

Additionally, the final credit assigned for Bin Lauden's death goes to 25 of America's finest... Navy Seals from Seal Team 6 made a house call in the early morning hours of May 2, 2011 (May 1 in the U.S.) that was obviously a 'shock and awe' moment to the criminal directly responsible for the murder of nearly 3,000 American civilians...

Clanad, so you aren't a communist then?
There must be some coherent meaning in your statement/question, jomfil but darned if I can decipher it...
These 5m people are in the US anyway and probably working illegally. Maybe the logic is that if they were legal, the country would have more money in it`s coffers via their paying tax.
237, If they paid taxes many items would go up in price...
PP, the fact that Cameron cannot just say, off his own bat as it were, that hunting is now legal again was the whole POINT of my saying so!

/// many of these people have deep roots in the USA, have families, work and pay taxes. They'd be an asset to their adopted country. ///

Not their adopted country, their 'stolen' country.

/// It seems only right that they won't have to be looking over their shoulder or living a life dreading a dawn raid and deportation. ///

They are illegals and as such like all criminals this is the risk that they have to learn to live with.
