Ignoring the bleeding heart human rights brigade(were they around when a Rabbi was murdered?) does anyone think this is a good idea?

I just cannot see why they think this will be a deterrent.

Anyone got any ideas?

For sure if you punish a whole family (or more) for the actions of an individual then all you do is exasperate the situation as opinions polarise and have a genuine ability to point to how they have been mistreated.

Not to mention that wanton destruction is wrong in itself.

I hadn't realised that country was so backward, I thought they were an example of a modern state, albeit one in difficult circumstances.
