How do other AB'ers manage stress?
I often just shut the door, turn the phone off, light a few candles, stick a bit of 'chillin' music on and bury myself in a book for the night.
Other times, after a particular stressing situation or day, about the only thing that does it for me is a half bottle of vodka or a few cans of super lager...not good!
Curious as to how others on here cope with stress.
Thanks.

I just don't do stress. (despite being surrounded by stressheads)
PC gaming, reading, sleeping.

I sleep

Read. Have a glass of wine. Decide if it's worth me getting stressed over and then do something about it. I am rarely stressed at work.
Relaxing music, read, do a crossword, sleep.
I sleep or come on here for a chat. x

I don't allow myself to become stressed, prevention being better than cure!
I think exercise helps with stress. I used to go for a spin on my bike along the towpath.
I reach a point where I realise it's going to get the better of me and try to focus on a positive aspect, like how much you can achieve under pressure.
It seems to work.
Oh, and I swear a lot.
I have to will myself to calm down, take deep breaths sitting quietly eyes closed listening to your body and your heartbeat, mentally slowing it down. Don't allow the stress in to your thoughts while you sit this way. Your method with candles and a good book sounds ok too, I don't think of drinking alcohol when I feel that way, just a cup of coffee does for me.
I've been feeling ill and stressed for the past six weeks or so and I'm not good at sitting still, but it does work, and remember, tearing your hair out isn't a good look.

Can't draw but find doodling helps.
I basically don't cope. But I try to engage in something entirely different if it gets particularly bad.
All great answers but getting the brain to switch off isn't easy
I go out in the garden, deadhead my flowers and do some weeding. Gardening is very relaxing for me, especially if our tame robin hops right up to me, I'm so delighted to see him so close.
Try writing down what is causing the stress and imagining stupid ways of removing it.
That said these days things are a bit better because I talk about it more. Time was I used to keep quiet about it. Not helpful.
A bottle of sherry and a straw works wonders .
