Probably boring but cant go wrong with vouchers from B&Q or somewhere, what with summer coming they can get what they want!!!
what about a lovely orchid from M&S or one of those living bamboo thingies.... can't go wrong with some beautiful plants or flowers....
As mentioned above, If you get one of the moth orchids (phelaenopsis) from any garden centre in a nice ceramic pot, they will last for months are are absolutely gorgeous.
How about a certificate offering them some time gardening or decorating, therefore you can give a gift whilst being financially aware

I never give gift vouchers for any occasion, cos then they know how much they are worth !!

Anything like a housewarming we normally go for some form of candle display - you can get chrome ones or mirrored ones etc.

That way, even if they don't use the candles, they are still nice to look at.

How about a cookery book.
yes I agree with grannyg, a recipe book is great and if they've got a garden why not an al fresco one or an aga one if they've got an aga .....
a cutting from one of your own plants?
Hi mailme, how about a disposable camera and a photograph album for them to display pictures of their new house and maybe changes they undertake in it .
