Do you take great pleasure from your food, or is eating just something that you have to do to stay alive? I ask because I have recently realised that my attitude towards food has changed dramatically over the years. When I was a child, and for much of my adult life, I had little interest in food. But in recent years I have become something of a gourmet, and spend hours searching for new recipes and get much satisfaction from cooking elaborate meals for my family and friends. What's your relationship with food and cooking?

I eat to stop me starving to death, mostly toast and jam.
Years ago I used to make elaborate meals, entertain a lot, even weekday meals were 'fancy'.Now I've got sick of thinking what to make,we grow lots of veg and are lucky to have two farm shops close by so tend to eat more simply. If we want exotic we get a takeaway but almost everything we eat is from scratch. I want to know where my food comes from and would rather go hungry than eat cage eggs or intensive reared pork. We are also eating a lot more vegetarian meals.
i love eating & cooking, always have
It keeps the old engine ticking over
