Could Someone Answer This For Me Please.? I Cooked My First Christmas Cake

today and put the second one in.....then a few hours later I have suddenly realised I had cooked the first one on the wrong number.? It should have been 3 hours on 2 and I cooked it on number 1...but did leave it in an extra hour as I wasnt sure it was properly cooked.? Help ? has anyone every done this? And now wondering if it has cooked and if I could put it baack in the oven tomorrow? Have cooked these cakes for years and never done this before ! Dah! Senior moment.!

Did you do the skewer poke check? You can't put it back in the oven again, well you could but it would come out like a brick.

Hi again wolfgang...I did yes and it seemed cooked but the colour is a lot lighter.
maybe it has cooked but will not be as dark. So annoyed with myself.. Thankyou for your reply.
That's an oops! If it seems cooked by the skewer test (and you have another one) you could try serving it with brandy custard as an alternative pudding - or just trust to the skewer and call it a cake!
