Skype...no Longer Free ?

Can anyone tell me if Skype is still free to use? Logged on to it for the first time in ages and the desktop has changed and it appears to be suggesting I need to choose a tariff..?!

Please could someone advise what has changed?

I use skype all the time and pay nothing

no..video calls still free..

You can use it to pay for international phone type calls, but voice and video are still free.
It's not compulsory to select a tariff.

Thanks rsvp. That's interesting to know. The page after logging in has changed and seems to be asking me to pay. I had an email a few months ago saying the desktop was changing. Has this happened to you?

They are tariffs for calling land lines or mobiles. You can just use your credit account otherwise if you want to call these devices
