Looking for a nice restaurant or hotel in London's West End for a small family birthday lunch, in December. Somewhere quite fashionable, not nouveaux cuisine, and not a rip off ! Thanks all

Well, it's not exactly the west end but the Electric Diner is very good and definitely not nouvelle cuisine.

Big Easy in a Covent Garden is also good

I like this place, not over priced, and nicely quirky.

Thanks they look great but we meet up in Oxford St as we all live in different areas and that is central for us. Maybe Regent St, Piccadilly, Marylebone, Baker St areas?
joe allens in Covent Garden off The Aldwych is excellent.
How about Drury Lane

Sarastro is quite a unique place

The Social Eating House in Poland Street, Soho is fantastic. Probably as good an eating experience as I've ever had, and not stupidly priced either.
ps........Poland Street is not too far from Oxford Circus.
