Can anybody help with the "thematic" link to this weeks puzzle ? I think I have 4d correct "ruddigore" ( Sarcastic comment otherwise included in vulgar thematic work)

The word thematic ocuurs quite a lot and I was wondering if the rest are G+S works ?

Here's the list of the usual collaborations http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilbert_and_Sullivan#Major_works_and_original_London_runs - are they there? p.s. Ruddigore does fit that clue

(don't have the crossword to know what the other answers are)

Thanks bibs...I have had a look at Wiki and I think I am barking up the wrong tree ! Although DOYLY CARTE seems right for 6a/21d ( Napkin and menu doing for thematic company )

Stop press ! I have just thought of Grand Duke for 15d...$1000 given to John Wayne to portray thematic hero...so the hunt is back on !
it does look like you're on the right track
