Quarantine is all very well theory but in reality how could we do it?
There are 100s of people a day coming into the UK from West Africa, even with no direct flights they will just use an indirect route. We would need to house them all in a quarantine area for 3 or 4 weeks. There would be 1,000s to be quarantined where the hell could we keep them?
The situation in the USA is even worse it has land borders with Canada and Mexico how could they check who was coming in? As it is 100s get in illegally via Mexico every day.
Eddie......that is a good point that you make.

However....surely a Dr, who had been working with Ebola cases, should have been quarantined in the US or perhaps before leaving West Africa.

You are correct it would be a mammoth task, but if this outbreak is not contained and there is little sign of this at the moment, then the "mammoth task" may well come into play.
I'm beginning to think the same way Sqad. No mammoth task = potential mammoth disaster (costing FAR more).

I very much doubt it, how did that doctor bring it into Spain?

How did that doctor bring it into the US?

I assume all our service personnel who have been deployed to help with the ebola outbreak will be quarantined when they come home on leave?
I didn't know that. Ta
