Agree with bhg, most likely the reversing light switch on the gearbox. Quite a common problem on earlier Ka's.

Loose Connection?
Fuse?
Most likely Baldric is right but it could be the switch on the gearbox or a bad earth.

Is the gearbox reverse light switch easy to locate, as only have car ramps..?
You'll be able to do when on ramps
Or you may be able to locate from under bonnet
It's situated on top of the gearbox.
When do locate switch to confirm it is faulty if you remove connector and put of piece of wire between the 2 light should come on when ignition is turned on
Meant to say put the wire between the holes in the connector i.e. Short it out
