Apparently Chris Evans morning radio show has gone down in ratings - perhaps if he didn't keep mentioning cars he'd be able to hang on to his audiences. I gave up listening in long ago.

I do like Chris Evans, but the ebb and flow of audience figurres is normal in any media, and always has been.

If Chris Evans's figures dropped from, for example, eight million to seven million - the media would have a feeding frenzy - 'Evans falls from grace / Evans on the way out ...' and so on and so on.

The fact is, the BBC must weep with joy at seven million listeners for a country this size - and know that the figure could well go back up again at any time.

Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy his show but the constant motor reference drove me away. I really prefer ken Bruce these days.
You're right, he does bang on about Car Fest rather too much.
Can't bear listening to him.

Hopefully his days are numbered.
He never shuts up - talks over the beginning of records, then talks over the end of them, like they're an inconvenience. The Friday shows with all the guests are self-indulgent prattle, and we're really not interested in his family or his cars!
Who?
^ that's why I don't listen. he's OK but talks far too much. If I'm going to have R2 on I want to have R2 music playing.
I stopped listening because it's all 70s MOR rock. Boring.
Exactly - we listen for the music. Oh, and don't get me started on the awful, camp, giggling Michael Ball, standing in for Ken Bruce this week.....
