Three Police Crime Commisioners present file regarding Court Judge who they accuse of repeatedly handing down inadequate sentences in Domestic Abuse cases.

Are they correct to challenge the judiciary in this way? How many times have we heard of low sentencing nationally on a variety of crimes?

I don't see why not. Anybody can question a public official, such as a Judge if they want to. I don't know the complete facts of this case but if 3 PCC's have complained, then maybe the authorities should take it seriously.
They're just trying to justify their inflated salaries.

If campaigners are correct and that it is a postcode lottery, where are the other PCC's in relation to weak sentencing? I can't recall any challenges of this sort?
Yes it is appropriate.
The Commissioners are elected by the public, and their job is to serve the public on crimeissues.

You would hope that the judicary would monitor their own petsonel and have a mechanism for reprimanding or warning a Judge who under performs. If this Judge is not following sentencing guidelines and being too lenient, then it would appear they are not doing their job, so someone else has to.

Another way of saying "they're doing their jobs" perhaps? You do occasionally get judges who are way out of line with their brother judges and with guidelines. This should be dealt with, not ignored.

Gromit, exactly. The judiciary must have set procedures to monitor performance of the judges.

Would they have eventually acted before the PCC's file landed?
