Why Are My Son's Goldfish Dying?

Son has a garden pond, well maintained and a fair few plants in it. About 2 months ago he added 6 small goldfish from a garden centre outdoor fish area.
They have been fed as per the guidance of the centre, and were growing well.

This week 3 have died and were floating on the surface. Out of the 3 remaining 2 look quite poorly and may well expire .Any advice most welcome . Thank you.

Are these additional fish or the first stocking? Either way, first step for me would be a water test kit to see if there are any abnormal levels.

Thank you for your response, these were first ever fish.The pond has masses of frogs also.How should the water be? We are total novices.Thanks again.

are they near trees as leaves now starting to fall and will decompose in the water and kill the fish

You can get the water test kits from most aquatic shops, ask for one for fresh water ponds.
