My Dahlias are beautiful this year but rather too big. I kept the tubers from last year and hoping to do the same this. When is the best time to divide them? I'm assuming you can. Thanks.

I would wait until the dahlias have died down and are totally dormant. You can then split the tubers up.

I'd be inclined to store them over winter as they are and then divide them in Feb or march or whenever you pot them or plant them.
The way to tell is to wait in till the first frost and the plants turn black, then
lift and store till the spring then divide before planting up next summer.
