a fridge freezer,

The top half is OK, but the freezer part (4 draws) needs defrosting, and honestly, I have never done it before and I'm 70.

Before I got an automatic self defrost fridge/freezer, I used to use a hair drier although it's NOT recommended.
I get a basin of boiling water and put it on one of the shelves, leave the door open and put old towels on the floor.

The ice should melt quicker with the heat. You will probably have to change the water a few times.
Forgot to say, make sure you take the plug out first, not just switched off at the wall.
Switch off appliance. Take everything out of freezer and pile in large heap - cover with blanket or similar. Put saucepans of boiling water in freezer. Close door. Wait for ice to soften then gently prod at it with suitable implement.Lift out semi-frozen debris. Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. Put food back and switch on again. Job done.
Follow 2sp's instructions and also as the ice melts you can often prise the ice off in chunks with a rubber (not metal) fish slice or similar non scratching implement. This avoids too many puddles on the floor and it defrosts much quicker.
Absolutely. Speaking as somebody who decided to aid defrosting with a steel scraper, I can assure you that it's an expensive thing, a new freezer.

Thanks for all the advice folks, and just realised through janbee post that mine, is an automatic self defrost fridge/freezer, and is only 18 months old, but have to admit have left the door ajar a few times.
For better deforestation, you need to cut the trees in a way so that it doesn't make any harm to your environment. And I would like to say that deforestation is not so good for our environment.
