I am thinking to take a coach trip to Scotland in January....and hoping to see some snow.

Shearing Holidays go to several places there..but the furthest north are Dornoch,Gairloch and Strathpeffer...would I be likely to see some in any of these places and which is the most likely?

My husband wants to go to Tunisia(as per usual) but I am fed-up with airports and I so,so love the snow..!!!!

You should see snow at Aviemore and the Cairngorms as the ski slopes are there, but nothing is guaranteed!

You might see some on the hills, if you're travelling by coach you will come up the A9 (probably) so should come through some snow.

Yes kloofnek, January or February are maybe the better months to go. Fingers crossed you'll see some lovely snow in that beautiful part of the country.

Thank you for your answers,I know nothing is guaranteed but as Piper and janbee say..there is a good chance.
Janbee, you say in that part of Scotland, any particular one of the places I mentioned?

My own personal choice would be Dornoch but don't let that sway you. It's just that Gairloch and Strathpeffer(both beautiful) are more likely to have milder climates. A previous posters have said though... there are no guarantees ! Wherever you go, have a lovely time xx

Thank you everyone...have a nice afternoon
I live in Scotland, we no doubt will have snow/ice/slush on the ground, I know where I would be going for my holiday !!!!!!!!!!!!!
We do have some very mild winters occasionally! But you would have to be pretty unlucky not to see some snow if you come in January.

But Dornoch is lovely all year round.
