Former Tory Party donator Arron Banks was ridiculed as 'a nobody' by Wiliam Hague when it was announced recently he was going to be making a donation of £100,000 to UKIP.
As a result of the barb, he has increased that donation to £1 million.
You couldn't make it up, Tories fuelling the UKIP media machine with their ill-judged comments.

Cameron must be secretly glad that the conservatives have no hope of winning the next election!
If he did win it he would be forced to hold his much promised In- Out referendum on the EU. Then when the vote was for 'out' he would have to admit that it was all bluff and he will be ignoring it and staying in.

Oh I've absolutely no doubt the whole thing was stage managed, but if Hague is gonna set 'em up, what choice has Nige got but to knock 'em down?
As I've said before, like him or loathe him Farage is becoming increasingly appealing to the ordinary man on the street and reflects the general public's concerns.
The electorate are weary of false promises and failed policy.
The sooner we all wake up to the fact the better.

No. But the general public would rather vote for a 'good bloke' than fuss over what they are going to get up to, once in power… is what you seem to be saying. People like that were probably what got Hitler into power.

In any other thread, I could be accused of reductio ad Hitlerum but, in thus case we're talking about people having serious intent to vote for a one-policy party, failing to appreciate that they will need to run the country {shudder} for however many months it will take to extricate ourselves from Europe. Voting for a (mostly) blank manifesto is asking for it.
The Greens have the decency to have policies over and above the eco-friendly stuff but I've heard these described as borderline communist ,which is what
-really- makes them unelectable. (Not the nearly 5 minutes of airtime they got on Newsnight, in the past 12 months, compared to however many hours Forage mysteriously managed to get).

I think you'll find an awful lot of people will be making that 'mistake'. They're fed up with the self serving, detached PR men who pass for politicians nowadays. You cant get a fag paper between the 2 major party's who are both trying to appeal to the same band of voters and have presided over the widest gulf between rich and poor since the 1920s.
I don't think their voters expect them to win power(any time soon) but they're already having a healthy influence on Lab/Con policies.

Like him or not, Wedgy Benn's quote about 'Signposts and weathercocks', among politicians is particularly appropriate. He admired the 'signposts', even if he disagreed with their policies and added "you can't trust the weathercocks".

Yeah, why not? Continue to ride rough-shod over a large section of the electorate. After all, they're only a bunch of 'fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists'.
Can you recall where that stance subsequently got them in the Euro elections and how they were all subsequently falling over each other whilst clamouring to distance themselves from such comments?

Why do people think if they vote UKIP, they'll get Millipede? What tosh. It's just Tory scaremongering and brainwashing... and it seems to be working. What about, Vote UKIP, get UKIP.? Try it, we DESPERATELY need a thorough shake-up and change in the UK. The other 3 parties have now all had their chances over the years and look where it's got us? Go on, be brave, take a chance. It's only for a 5 year term and if you don't like them, then vote them out next time around. It's not for EVER !
If you combine the poll figures for the Tories and UKIP, then the right are way ahead. Translated to votes in the ballot box it would appear different. That is why I shall support UKIP on every occasion, except at the next election. I desperately want that referendum, so shall vote Tory, as it seems the only realistic chance of getting what I want.

Most seem to forget it is not the votes of die hard labour or Tory that matter, it is Middle England that giveth and Middle England that tacketh. If you do not pamper to them you will loose. Blair for all his faults saw this and it is how labour got re elected so much.
