What are you likely to be eating on Christmas Day. Traditional turkey or something more exotic? Personally would rather have a roast, but son-in-law insists on turkey! Maybe stay at home and have an Indian carry out!

Definitely no sprouts...
^ I'll have yours
I'm going to a local Indian restaurant for a lovely curry. I've done that for the past few years and it's been really great. I recommend it. xx
Scorpio, you'll have to fight me for them. I LOVE sprouts !!
I have no idea, as I won't be cooking it.
I asked first, jan ;o)
On our own for the first time in years....so I think we'll be having Venison, either haunch a-la red wine with herb dumplings, mustard mash etc... or rib of beef roast with Yorkies etc. Will definitely be loads of brussels...I love them.
Come to ours Jo, there's always loads, I'm the only one that likes them :o(
We always go to my nieces and she does the full monty, choice of three meats, all the traditional bits and pieces, finished of with christmas pud or hot mince pies and a cheese board for anybody with a bit of room left.
Yes please, mazie :o) May I bring jan?
Of course, the more the merrier, hope you like Champagne?
I do. I'll bring a bottle for each of your birthdays :)
Not sure what we are doing yet, so I can't put the sprouts on just yet.
curry this year
legless by the Queen's speech.... Par for the course in this house ;o) It's going to be really strange without all the kids to cook for and look after :o(
I had a duck breast with plum sauce last year but I usually get some sliced cooked turkey (carved from the bone) from Morrison's, warm it in the oven and serve it with all the usual trimmings.

One of the best Christmas Day meals I've had though was in an Asian/North African fusion restaurant (in south London) back in the late-90's. In those days my local pub was charging £35 for Christmas Day lunch (it's £55 now!) but I had a starter, main course, desert (choosing some of the most expensive items on the menu and adding on the usual Indian restaurant extras, such as spiced poppadums) and a couple of glasses of lassi, with bill coming to just £10.80, which they then rounded down to a tenner! I was so impressed that I left a £20 tip!

At other times I've simply not bothered. One Christmas Day, for example, I simply couldn't be bothered to prepare everything for my usual turkey lunch (even though I'd bought everything to do so). I just had a Findus lasagne!
