One used to be able to get electrically conductive paint to go across cracks. Not sure if you can still get it. Was that the sort of damage you meant ?
Question Author
I think so .

Some of the element that goes across the glass has cracks/is broken /
partially rubbed off / worn - so you have 'lines' where the mist/condensation clears and then there are lines where it is does not clear
Ah, worth a try then.

The element is much thinner than the illustration in the product shown using a brush - unless one can get a very thin pen type applicator , otherwise the screen would look a mess - i.e . repair element thicker than the rest of the elements
It won't notice. Use masking tape if concerned.
Question Author
But how do you mask such a thin line across the screen - if you see what i mean ?
The kit comes with a masking template to make it easier to apply.
Not sure what the problem is. You put one piece to create and age above the bit you want and another piece at below and then paint over the top of them. You'd probably need to remove the tape smartish I'd expect, as you don't want to be peeling the whole lot off after it dries. Practice away from the break first, or even on a different piece of glass.

I've used the paint, the template was quite wide compared to the element, and the paint was quite thick, i'm not sure if this was due to the paint, or if it had been in the motor factors for years and years and had gone off, either way it didn't look pretty if you looked closely at it, BUT it only cost a few £'s and it worked.

Over a hundred quid! Cheaper to throw a rock through it and get the insurance to put a new window in. Even if you have a £50 excess (which I don't) it is much cheaper. Just blame it on a student who has had 27 pints of Carling, taken offence at being chucked out of the pub and doesn't have a very good aim.
