Cost And Length Of Ideal Boiler 24Kw Combi Guarantee

I have had one of the above boilers installed in a tenanted flat. Does anybody out there know what the standard guarantee is, and the cost of any extended guarantee if appropriate? I can't seem to find the answer on their numerous websites.

No idea, but it is electronic control boards in these that have a propensity to go wrong. Costs about £150 to fix, but the company may have done something to fix reliability issues by now.
Not my own preferred choice I'm afraid, and probably not want you want to hear.

I have an Ideal Classic (came with the house) and whilst at one time I did end up replacing the board (got a reconditioned one at not much less than the price BM suggested for the job), in retrospect, had I managed to get a decent plumber instead of one that blamed the board, said he could get there for a while as he was working elsewhere, and suggested I replace it, I'm sure they would have found the real fault and not assumed the boiler anyway. Generally speaking it seems to have been ok for me. Whilst I don't have any good answers to your question I express the opinion that extended cover is using a good deal for the provider and not likely to be so for the purchaser. Which is why it's offered. But it's your choice/gamble.
