Sorry typo 'not looking for a wireless option'
I don`t have the details as I no longer have the packaging but I use Sennheiser folding headphones for my tablet and iPod. The sound is great and they are good for travelling.

If the link doesn't work Argos - Sony BTN200 Bluetooth Headphones - Black. 108/7479 £49.99 down from £99.99.

I bought these a couple of weeks ago and am very pleased with them. I was a bit worried about linking them to my pc but I followed the instructions carefully and it was very simple and took a couple of minutes. I charged them fully before using them and haven't had to charge them since even though I've used them for a couple of hours most evenings. The sound is clear and the volume can be very loud if that's how you like it.

You are supposed to be able to hear 30 feet away if there are no major obstructions but I have found that although I could still hear a bit of music when upstairs, 15ft across the room I could lose tv speech. That's a bit odd unless music travels better then tv programmes.

Anyway they are excellent if you are near your device so 10/10.

Apparently you can link them to your phone if it has bluetooth and then answer your phone when you're listening to something. Which must be a bonus if you are always using your mobile.

Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

These are the ones I have. I would happily recommend them to anyone. The sound quality is brilliant, they are comfortable and lightweight and come with their own case.
Many headphones have "bass-boost" and sound like ***.

I have Denon DJ phones which sound great. Sorry the model number is not obvious.

The prices vary so much, Anyhow thanks for the advice - in the end a bought a pair of Philips headphones from Tesco for £14.00 and I am really please with them. They are comfortable and seem to give great sound at a decent volume. I must just remember not to try and singalong whilst on the train.
