Hello all,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Yet again xstitcher has come to my recuse with ideas for a theme. So here are a few suggestions, obviously the interent is filled with all sorts of stuff so I have stuck with the diabetes.org site.

Here are some great suggestions for breakfast:

and a main meal:

No honest !
We believe you .
Hmmmmmmmmmh
OG - I too am addicted to bread so I know how you feel. Many years ago I gave up the bread and found I got depressed whatever it done to me.

My next neighbour while not overtly fat has cut out bread completely and I can see a big difference in him - would say he has lost 2 stone.

It is hard!!!
Very true jennyJoan I have proved that .
Thanks for that OG. I wish that they had named the type of sweetner. I was told by my surgery nurse to just use products using Stevia. Wikipedia has a good article on it....haven't learned to cut and paste yet....
I heard a bit about this problem on the TV So was glad to be able to learn more about it.
Just for you Xstitcher

That was really thoughtful of you. Thanks 1ozzy.
There you go OG 1ozzy has cut and pasted it for me.
As I read it I think they imply any sweetener. Although it's early days and disputed yet.

Ah Stevia. I was using that before it was well known and was only available in "health shops" but was put of by someone on the Net who I now believe had confused it with something else. Bought some again recently and can confirm that it still has that after-taste.
So you're an early bird too OG! I agree that it has a very sweet after taste for me so I use it very sparingly. In my case it's beggars can't be choosers.
Are you enjoying your weekend homemade bread?
Very nice thanks :-)
Just awake too early again. I shall try to turn over and fail to get back to sleep in a while.
Me too, but have used my awake time to king of learn how to copy and paste!
Good morning all,
I have somehow managed to keep my weight this week, but now comes the problem with two lunches and three dinners at restaurants between now and Friday. That, for me, is a years treats rolled into one!
Home again on Sunday and back to my safe, comply regime.
Good morning Enjoy your meals out Xstitcher you know that as soon as you get back home you will be back to your own planning of meals . I knew it I am stuck again but better than a gain.
Morning. Well done you two for staying stable this week.
Morning all. I know Monday is neither one thing nor another, but I'm on holiday from work at the moment and have lost all sense of time. I didn't weigh in last week and am away to Paris soon so i'll check back with you all once I'm home. I've been trying hard with my walking although I know I haven't managed the target 48 minutes a day, and besides, I've been knocked out by ear/throat virus these last few days which has zapped my energy. I definitely need a relaxing holiday but wish me luck in avoiding those baguettes!
Hello Maydup top marks for trying it is not easy at times . I hope you have a lovely time in Paris I have never been there but have a baguette and I know you will get back to us when you get back and rectify things .
Hi Maydup, I back up Wendilla 100%. You enjoy a baguette and get back in track when you get home. After 3 weeks in Spain and enjoying a treat now and then I still weigh the same so don't fret about it. Try and balance your meals out and you'll be fine. I hope your throat/ear virus has completely left the premises!
