Renault Megane Mk2 1.4 16V Mpg ?

Does anyone drive/driven one of these and know what sort of fuel economy they should do ?
I have one and it's doing 37 mpg which seems pretty bad for a small engine, light car.
I don't drive with a heavy foot !

It depends how you drive it! Do you have a roof rack? Tyre Pressures correct? has the car been service Correct? do you use your right foot hard down? all these contribute to excess fuel Usage Iggle.

37MPG sounds about right.Where is the driving ? -if its mainly town its very good.If it is all m/way then more near 40mpg
My mate has latest eco tech stop/start astra diesel lots of mway driving -44mpg

Got the figures- and as i guessed(oh ignore Extra Urban mpg/51.4 mpg this is the laughbable figure which all drivers inexplicably rely on -its like the 140mph speedo ona boggo 1.6 Ford)

Urban mpg 30.7 mpg
Extra Urban mpg 51.4 mpg
Average mpg 41.5 mpg
