Good day for child abuse victims ! 2 Police Officers involved with abuse allegations over Savile are being held to account. First of many I hope.

Perhaps we will see the Police Officers involved with similar investigations into Cyril Smith charged with same offence, and not before time.

What is gross misconduct ? What did the officers do?
I think it is what they didn't do, tambo.
Do police still exist? Have not seen a policeman for a couple of years.
They don't seem to patrol very much these days, Daisy. Well they don't in my neck of the woods.
Never here (I am out and about most days, going to the local shops, library, town, station, sea front. Did see a police car on the main road a few weeks ago. Breaking the speed limit and going through a red light.
probed they say and not charged.....
I would much rather see many more of the actual abuses arrested, rather than a few cops, but then that wouldn't fit in with some's anti-police agenda.

So would I and everybody else AOG, but if the Police don't investigate offences properly, how are the abusers going to end up in jail. Most of the abuse scandals of recent years, from Savile, through Cyril Smith and on to Rotherham have one thing in common, and it not because all the perpetrators were men.

In all cases the Police either sat on their hands and refused to acknowledge that a crime had been committed, or actively protected the celebrity abusers from prosecution. Now its their turn to answer some important questions.

The victims need answers, and after so many years, in the case of Savile, those answers are long overdue.

PP ::::

"Two detectives from Sussex Police who dealt with a sex crime allegation against Jimmy Savile have been served with gross misconduct notices"

"The IPCC also said two other Sussex officers, who were in a supervisory role in 2008, had been served with misconduct notices"

Charged or served, they are being dealt with, 40 years after the events in question.
