Hi - can anyone tell me please how to produce and print a large notice like a poster, so I can stick 4 x A4 pieces of paper together to make a much larger one? I have the poster set up in Word on A4 size I could use but need it spreading over the whole 4 sheets. Many thanks

save your work to a memory stick and take it print it off at your library (check online to see if they have this service) or local printers.. For a small price they should be able to print the poster in whole, I'm sure it will look so much better than sticking the sheets together.
That's what I was going to suggest too - a local printer can run you an A3 copy with no difficulty.
I got an A4 picture blown up to A3 at my local five supply shop yesterday and it only cost £1.
Sorry *office * supply shop.
however 4x a4 does not make a3
2x does.
yes, but Ann wants it the size of 4 a4 sheets
Surely what you do is ensure it is large enough on your PC to require printing over 4 sheets, then cut & sellotape the 4 sheets together ?
but how?
If you download Serif Page plus (which is free) it has the capacity to do this as a option.
Go to your printer & set all margins to 0.3, (using max page).
how will that help tambo?
Okay Ann try this- online, free and seems to do what you want it to:)

Ooops, thought ann wanted to print 4 pages to stick together.

Thanks everyone. Must explain, I don't particularly want it to be a smart slick job just a big (well huge!) notice to catch the eye. Reason is, our local paper, well-known for making mistakes(!) have excelled themselves this time by advertising an event I am organising at our church on the wrong date! They have put it down for tomorrow instead of 3 weeks time!! :( so I need to put a notice on the gate to the church car park tonight to explain things and give the correct date - GRRR such inconvenience!!

Kvalidir - that link looks interesting, will try it, thanks :)
How ? Surely most programmes that print poster pictures will print something large on multiple pages ? Unless you are saying it is text not a picture, then it may be a little more awkward. You'd have to printscreen and paste into a picture or scan into a picture maybe.

Tried blockposters.com but it wouldn't work as mine was a .doc file not a picture. Decided to do ordinary A4 posters size but still am curious to know if it can be done with a poster with words on, no picture.
In that case, and I don't know what word processor you use, is it possible in the settings to set the page size to A2 and the printer paper size to A4 ? If so it's possible the printer driver will sort out the details for you.

Like a lot of things this probably benefits from experimenting.
