If a couple married some six years ago, and split within a year, when could the marriage be ended?

That doesn't make sense. Married six years but split up within a year?
Isn't it still 2 years or has that changed?
Just checked, you have to be married for 1 year before you can divorce.
Oh I see. Sorry.
In England - a year from the split if you both agree, longer if you don't. It used to be 2 by agreement, 4 if there was disagreement.
You can file for divorce after one year of marriage if you can show the marriage has irretrievably broken down due to adultery or unreasonable behaviour.

After two years of separation if both parties agree.

After five years separation.
