I hope to be moving house in the next couple of weeks, but will probably have to go into a hotel until my purchase is completed. That's fine, but as I have quite a lot of plants, I wondered whether they would be OK in storage, in cardboard boxes, for the time I'm in the hotel, might be 2-3 weeks. I've got several Christmas cactus type plants, one is absolutely huge, and two Cymbideum orchids.

Can't you take them to the hotel, hellywelly?

They are really too big, at least Christmas Cactus is.
I'd ask a friend or relative to look after them.
They won't like the dark. Definitely ask someone to mind them for you
I doubt it would kill them especially if they are kept cool but they might be a bit sad for a while.

I've had a word with the removals company and they aren't allowed to keep indoor plants anyway, so I will ask a friend to have them. Thanks for your replies.
Good. They'll be much happier with your friend.
