between when you get to see the anethatist and when you have sugery?

I had a letter today to see the anethatist on 24th Oct but they have no date available for surgery yet!!

Although I think 24th Oct isa way bit in advance it is eough to keep quiet for a while. I wonder if the letter I sent last week did the trick :)

I have an appointment to see anaesthetist on the 30th September. They've already given me that bottle wash thingy to use before I go in so I'm assuming this side of Christmas. I could be wrong of course.
The gap varies from hospital to hospital and also varies with the type of surgery that you are having.

Surely, the gap cannot be more than a week.
We don't see the anaesthetist until surgery day here. We get a nurse appointment a week or so before where we get all health checks done (BP etc), we also have to fill in questionnaires about medications and allergies which is then given to the anaesthetist to peruse.
