Pastry is a toughie with the bakers making pasties to wellingtons to samosas and even exploring the fame of the beloved Cornish pasty which has spread much further than you would think - to Mexico.
here is the teaser clip:

here is last week's thread if anyone wants to discuss further:

NOTICE TO GRUMPY PEOPLE: If you are posting here to complain about the Great British Bake Off being on again, how "boring" you find it, or to ask "what's the point" you will be suspended. This is fair warning. To be absolutely clear: we don't care what you think about GBBO :)

I love GBBO, the only problem is though I get incredibly hungry whilst it's on :-(

I'm not being grumpy, I just don't watch the main prog - just to say that I prefer to watch Jo Brand and "An Extra Slice" on fridays....!
i love pastry, meat wrapped in pastry is a beautiful thing
A mince round is something to be worshipped.....
I'm looking forward to tonight, seems like the competition is much tougher at this stage as so many of them have a lot of skills so it could be a little slip or an area which isn't their best which could see them out.

I wouldn't like to call who will go tonight!
i think nancy and martha are consistently over-marked and would like to see either of them go
Pastry is my favourite. YAY!
Well, an interesting one. I think a few have had their confidence knocked and shown weaknesses.

I think it was the right result though as she does seem to have struggled a bit and wouldn't have lasted much further against those who seem more consistently organised. I saw her as a bit of a Ruby but her natural talent seemed to win through.

Glad Richard is back on his game.
We love it, and great to see good bakers having the occasional booboo like we do

but it was a shame about who left but not complete surprise after last week.

what did everyone else think?

Nothing to do with the ABAuntie but, in today's newspapers there appears to be a hue & cry regarding the alleged innuendos in the show. I can only say it's a good job Max Miller has long since gone to a better place (well hopefully)
A mince round is something to be worshipped.....

Absolutely boxy... my favourite, with extra short pastry
